Welcome to Western Canada Retina Retreat

The Western Canada Retina Retreat is a leading clinical conference that brings together experts in retinal research, treatment, and education. Our mission is to foster collaboration, share knowledge, and drive advancements in retinal care. With a strong emphasis on innovation and real-world application, the retreat provides a case-based teaching platform for ophthalmologists, researchers, and industry professionals to exchange ideas and explore the latest developments in the field.

  • Friday, October 31
    Full conference day at the Hyatt Regency (Stephen Room) featuring Grand Rounds, Retina Day sessions, and faculty/fellow case presentations
    Evening Dinner: Major Tom, 700 – 2 Street SW

We are proud to acknowledge endorsement from the Canada Retina Society and support through the Retina Society of Alberta.

This event is accredited for MOC Program Section 1: Accredited Group Learning credits. "The Western Canada Retina Retreat & Retina Rounds is a self-approved group learning activity (Section 1) as defined by the Maintenance of Certification Program of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada."

*All attendees will be required to submit and present a 10-minute retina related case.

Learning Objective

Distinguish the principles behind various test (e.g., fluorescein angiography, autofluorescence, optical coherence tomography) and apply corresponding findings to common retinal disorders.

Recognize the clinical presentation of rare retinal disorders.

Review recent advances in the treatment and prevention of retinal disorders.
