Prof. Michel Eid Farah, MD, PhD, São Paulo, Brazil

Dr. Michel Eid Farah is a Professor of Ophthalmology at the Federal University of São Paulo. He is involved in blindness prevention programs and medical education, and participates in a number of scientific and fundraiser boards within the Brazilian Council of Ophthalmology and the Brazilian Academy of Ophthalmology. Dr. Farah has served as President of the Vision Institute, Brazil, and the Brazilian and Pan-American Retina-Vitreous Societies. He did his fellowship in retina-vitreous disease at Federal University of São Paulo and a research fellowship at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute, University of Miami, USA. Dr. Farah has served as President of several national and international meetings and presented the American Journal of Ophthalmology Lecture at AAO. He is the Principal Investigator in over 40 clinical trials evaluating new drugs, devices, surgical innovations and delivery systems. Dr. Farah has been a peer reviewer and a member of the editorial board of several scientific journals. He is the author of 10 books and 151 chapters and has 282 peer-reviewed articles.
